SS2012 Campaign
The Mayan Riviera. Four friends travelling in search of freedom, adventure, nature and fun.
Franklin & Marshall arrives in Mexico to chase this magic, along the Mayan Riviera, from Tulum to the fishing town of Punta Allen in the Peninsula of Boca Paila. The main goal of this trip is the discovery of the Mayan site of Tulum, once called Zama – the city of sunrise – built by the sea exactly in front of the place where the sun rises.Fantasy and truth are inseparable in the Mayan world and this is also the reason why, throughout the years, Tulum has inspired legends, trips and stories. One of the most beautiful is Trip to Tulum by Federico Fellini, the script of a film which has never been made, transformed into a strip cartoon by Milo Manara. It tells the surreal adventure of Fellini’s alter ego, the traveler director Snàporaz, in the places described by the writer Carlos Castaneda in which, between dreams and adventures, he is looking for the secret of wisdom of the ancient people of Mexico. This wisdom also includes being able to live in contact with nature, the sea, the forest and the stars in an ancient place and one of the most fascinating of the world. Federico Fellini used to say that “If you don’t finish the trip you will never know why you came of this way”.“I believe that a trip only exists on paths with a heart, any path with a heart. There, I travel and the only worthy challenge is to travel across all its length. There, I travel looking, looking, breathless.” Carlos Castaneda. “Every path is only one in a million of possible paths.” Carlos Castaneda.
