Sport Sponsorship

One way to remain faithful to the spirit that took them to Lancaster in the first place is to always focus on quality and originality. In order to maintain a direct link with sport, Franklin & Marshall chose to tie its name to the sporting realities of its hometown, sponsoring the Verona Rugby Team and Juventud de Badalona basketball team.

JUVENTUD DE BADALONA
The idea came from the players themselves: the team was looking for a new clothing line and the Badalona boys asked for an elegant but youthful style, inspired by the American sports world, a way to wear the black and green colors of their team while represent the team spirit a new way. The choice could only be Franklin & Marshall. For the 2010-2011 season, the brand has designed the official, non-technical, clothing for Juventud de Badalona and the clothing will be available exclusively at the team's home stadium - the Olympic Badalona Pavilion which opened in 1992.
Juventud de Badalona is one of the most important and key identities in Spanish sport. Founded on March 30th, 1930 in a small town in the industrial suburbs of Barcelona, the team has won four national championships, eight Kings Cups and two Spanish Super Cups, but most importantly, two Korać Cups, one European Cup and a Euroleague.
The secret and strength of "la penya", as the team is known by its fans, comes from the quarry, the green house of the youth. Some of the best talents in Spanish basketball have emerged from the Badalona School of Basketball which was founded in 1973. Its graduates include Ricky Rubio, who made his debut in 2005 at the tender age of 14 and is now a star of Barcelona and Rudy Fernandez, who has been playing for the NBA since 2007 and is one of the most loved players of the Portland Trail Blazers. The philosophy of the Juventud de Badalona team is to make basketball a school of life, concentrating its energies on young people and encouraging them to grow together with their team, transforming the best emerging talents of local basketball comps into champions of international fame.
It was within this context, something that has won Juventud repeated recognition as the youngest team in the Spanish League, that the relationship between Franklin & Marshall and Badalona was born.

CUS VERONA RUGBY
Rugby is in the DNA of Franklin & MArshall, as it is its hometown, Verona.
it was therefore a natural step for the Company to start sponsoring the local team.
Towards the end of 2010 Franklin & Marshall's CUS Verona Rugby Team was promoted to the National A1 Series for the 2010/2011 season. Promoted twice in two consecutive seasons, F&M moved from Series B to Series A2 in 2008/2009 and from Series A2 to Series A1 in 2009/2010. The second promotion, which was officially announced by the Italian Rugby Federation, marked a major milestone for the Veronese club bringing them into esteemed company where they joined the ranks of the top 22 rugby teams in Italy (second only to  the Top Ten professional level).
